I grew up in Lansing, Michigan, and I currently live in Cazenovia, New York, with my wife, Emily, and our eleven-year-old son, Sam. For those who are interested, these are some of my favorite things to do when I'm not studying and teaching political theory:
- Hiking and camping in the Adirondacks, or (better yet) the Alps, or (best of all) the Southern Alps, where the photo above was taken in February 2024
- Hanging out at Caz Lake, playing tennis, and shooting hoops with Sam in the summer
- Cross-country skiing at Highland Forest in the winter
- Rooting for the Michigan State Spartans, Boston Celtics, St. Louis Cardinals, and (alas) Detroit Lions
